Hawaiian Airlines Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner - N781HA "Kapuahi"
On February 23rd, 2024 Hawaiian Airlines’ first of twelve Dreamliners on order was welcomed in Honolulu with a special celebration, including a formal Hawaiian blessing. Emphasis was put in creating an interior that honors the island group’s Polynesian culture by using special fabrics, wall panels, up to the numbering of seat rows in Hawaiian language. The airline typically names its long-haul aircraft for stars and constellation used in the traditions of Polynesian navigators. N781HA is named for Kapuahi, a red giant star in the Taurus constellation, known as Aldebaran in Western astronomy.
