Austrian Airlines Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner
With the introduction of the Boeing Dreamliner, the Austrian airline is modernizing its long-haul fleet in one swoop. Initially, the three remaining Boeing 767s, which are now on average 25 years old, are to leave the fleet by 2026. The six Boeing Triple Sevens will then follow in a second step, so that Austrian will operate a uniform fleet of up to twelve Boeing 787-9s on long-haul routes from 2028. Originally delivered to Vietnam's Bamboo Airways in 2019, the Dreamliner handed over to Austrian Airlines in April 2024 was given the registration OE-LPM. It is named after one of the most famous of Vienna's many sights: Schönbrunn Palace.
