Life was short for the small Belgian regional carrier Air Antwerp, which was launched on September 9, 2019 and based in Antwerp. Just two years later, in June 2021, it was forced to permanently cease operations having previously suspended them several times due to a lack of passenger traffic during the coronavirus pandemic. The only aircraft in its fleet was a single Fokker 50, which it operated between Antwerp and London City Airport, an important route for diamond and commodity traders.
